"I do like to be beside the seaside"

We are delighted to be working with the team at the South Quay Shed.

Today, I am thrilled to share an exciting chapter in the journey of Fabric & Matter – a chapter that exemplifies our commitment to elevating spaces and experiences through thoughtful design and operational excellence.

Fabric & Matter recently won the contract to implement a transformative strategy at the beloved South Quay Shed in Whitstable. This project holds a special place in my heart, not just because of my love for the Kent seaside, but also because it showcases our approach to everything we do. ( I was also born nearby).

Winning the contract to transform South Quay Shed into a cosy haven was a testament to our expertise and passion for nurturing hospitality businesses. The heartwarming journey began by conceptualizing a strategy that would address the challenge of maintaining the Shed's inviting ambience during the colder months.

Our innovative approach involved introducing low-energy infrared heating, a solution that perfectly aligns with the Shed's commitment to sustainability. The choice to use this technology was not only pragmatic but also symbolic of our dedication to creating environments that offer comfort while treading lightly on the planet.

Drawing inspiration from our successful endeavours at Silo and CRATE, we curated a range of furniture that marries elegance with warmth. This range serves as a testament to our ability to fuse aesthetics with functionality. Just as Silo and CRATE are known for their distinctive atmospheres, we aimed to infuse the same magic into South Quay Shed.

We look forward to commencing the work in September 2023 and will share the results with you here. In the meantime, if you are working on any type of hospitality project and could use some help, drop us a line.
